Interesting read in the Washington Post on the changing personal finance habits of Americans. Basically, everyone is saving again and that is creating a drag on the economy.

Oh, pardon me! Here I am, just earning money, spending some and saving some. Acting like a selfish person, really! My overlords have invented this easy-to-use system wherein I can indenture myself for decades through credit, and like an ungrateful clod I forgot to use it. Please have mercy on me and forgive.
