Identity within the tribe is vastly more important than any other factor.
Huffington Post has released a poll showing that since Trump became the presumptive nominee his support among Hispanics has risen to 28%.
The same level of support that other recent Republican candidates have received.

(13,208 posts)Life long Democrats are corporate.
We are the same as Republicans
My only hope is to enthusiastically embrace a candidate who' been in my party for fewer years than my 22 year old son.
Thanks for the life lesson. I think the phrase :
Hanakuso ni meikuso waraou.
A slightly earthier Japanese "the pot calling the kettle black" is what you wanted to tell me, right?
But I don't believe for a second that Republicans are the same as Democrats

(13,208 posts)Since you're conviced I'm a sock puppet who do you believe I really am?
Or is it that anyone who disagrees with you sounds the same?
Either way.
Have a good one

(26 posts)to me, voting for someone like Baker, Rauner, Hogan or Christie is not terribly risky because there's nothing at stake since the dems control the legislature and you don't have to worry about them going full-ALEC on the state. OTOH, you can sure bet I would never vote for someone like Walker, Dayton, Snyder etc where they could definitely inflict some damage.

(10,007 posts)Unfortunately, they were co-opted by the Gingrich Revolution and now are as batshit crazy as the rest of the lot. So no, I generally won't vote for the Republican - not because of party affiliation, but because they keep running very bad candidates.
I call it "label loyalty."
