Whoa! Best be careful shoppin' at the Walmart

Woman caught cooking meth inside a South County Walmart

SOUTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY • A customer cooking a so-called "one pot" batch of methamphetamine inside a pop bottle in her purse caused the Thursday night evacuation of the South County Walmart store.

The woman was caught shoplifting an item unrelated to meth-making when store security and then police discovered the 20-ounce bottle, St. Louis County police Lt. Mark Cox said. The store full of customers at Telegraph Road and Interstate 255 was evacuated about 6:15 p.m. because of the possible dangers of the chemical concoction.

"It had the potential to be flammable or blow up at any time," Cox said. He described the initial situation inside the store as "volatile," but said the evacuation was mostly precautionary.
No one was injured. Aside from the bottle, no harmful substances or fumes were discovered inside the store.

The trend of cooking small quantities of the drug for personal use is on the rise, police said. But Cox said this was one of the first times locally a "one-pot" batch has been discovered and seized in a busy, public setting. "There are lots of one-pot cooks," Cox said. "But taking it into Walmart is very unusual."

This method is scary! Somebody in a car next to you could be cookin'.
Gone get blowed up.
The chemicals are very hazardous and hard to clean up. People also dump bags of meth lab trash on roadsides so be careful.

power of the internet, it's not just a locally-known fact anymore, either.

This story http://www.connectmidmissouri.com/news/story.aspx?id=722695#.T9Hc2bAzDNU appeared in February of this year.

A quick quote from article -
"According to the AP, in 2011, Jefferson County, which is just south of St. Louis County, had 253 seizures. That’s more than Texas, Florida, and California combined. Those three states had a total of 219 meth lab busts."

Damn. And right in the Bible Belt, too. Now wonder the evangelicals have been so......boisterous......lately.

They're all tweaking.

From 2006

College student lives at Wal-Mart for 41 hours

DES MOINES, Iowa — For spring break, some college students set out for sun-drenched beaches or cheap European cities. Skyler Bartels headed for the local Wal-Mart.

Bartels, 20, an aspiring writer and Drake University sophomore, thought he’d spend a week in a Wal-Mart as a test of endurance, using it as the premise for a magazine article. His college adviser liked the idea.

“I just intuitively thought, ‘This is brilliant!”’ said Carol Spaulding-Kruse, an associate professor of English. “I wasn’t quite sure why, but it just sounded like a really good idea.”

For 41 hours, Bartels wandered the aisles of a Wal-Mart Supercenter in Windsor Heights that’s open 24 hours a day. He checked out shoppers, read magazines, watched movies on the DVD display and played video games.

He bought meals at the in-store Subway sandwich shop, but was able to catch only brief naps in a restroom stall or on lawn chairs in the garden department.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've been in one of their fine retail establishments since 2003. Two years of working there was enough to sour me on that store.

in the place you are about to rent. It leaves residue that will mess you up and it is hard to clean out such a place.

Now it's cooking in people's purses ?!

There's a problem though.
Jessie does commercials for K-Mart.
Walmart may not take him along with Walter.
