The banana man claims nobody can trust atheists...

He uses communist dictators to "prove" his point.
Like his "point" that a banana is "proof" of creationism, even though the one he used was a human-modified one!

Ray Comfort: ‘You Can’t Trust An Atheist In A Position Of Authority’

Submitted by Nabi Dressler on Monday, 7/11/2016 10:53 am

On Tuesday’s episode of “Janet Mefferd Today,” evangelist Ray Comfort said that atheists can’t be trusted in politics or other positions of authority because they have no “moral high ground.”

After Mefferd claimed that “we don’t have any atheist members of Congress and we’ve never had an atheist president,” Comfort cited the crimes of various communist dictators to claim that atheists should never be given political power.

“Atheists have caused 110 million deaths in the last hundred years,” Comfort said. “Stalin, 60 million, he was an atheist. Mao, 40 million, and he was an atheist. Pol Pot, 1.7 million, he was an atheist. Vladimir Lenin, 5 million people slaughtered, he was an atheist. And so when people realize that, you can’t trust an atheist in a position of authority, especially politically. They may be nice people when you meet them in the street, but you give them power to do what they want and carry out their own agendas and you’re gonna find that they don’t have any moral high ground to stand on ‘cause they’re not standing on any whatsoever.”

As Freud allegedly said: "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."

And as Groucho said: "I like my cigar, but I take it out of my mouth once in a while."

And sometimes a banana is just a banana. Unless you are Ray Comfort, that is. It is apparently nice that its shape aids in its insertion. And yup! Apparently Comfort is still speaking about a banana. So he says.

My God loves you, but if you don't love him back, he'll hurt you forever.

Oh yeah, he's just fine with slavery also

believe Hitler was catholic.

A better question would be whether the deaths he attributes were a result of atheism or not. Were deaths caused by Hitler due to his religious affiliation? Were deaths caused by Stalin, Mao and Pol-Pot due to not have religious affiliations? I would submit that religion or lack of in these cases had little to do with the deaths.

One thing we do know is that at this moment and forever in the past we have had leaders waging wars and conquering and colonizing for religious reasons. Christianity being one of the big pushers of this strategy.

For the atheist body-count, I suggest starting with the Age of Enlightenment, at the year ~1700. Because that's when science and religion divorced and materialism started.

That's X dead people, over the course of 300 years, adjusted for the number of humans who lived in the years 1700 to 2000...

For the religious body-count... How long has religion been around now? 7000 years?

That's Y dead people, over the course of 7000 years, adjusted for the number of humans who lived in the years -5000 to 2000...

I'm tempted to actually make these calculations. But these people don't care about facts, so what would it be good for?

And this is a disgusting thing to say; I might excuse this nutter's insulting me; but try to insult most of my family, forget it!!!

On a more political, less visceral front, there have certainly been many excellent atheist/agnostic leaders, including my most admired British politican Clem Attlee.

And there are loads of political leaders, certainly in the UK, where I wouldn't have a clue if they're religious or not. Not my business, unless they ram it down our throats, like Andrea 'Loathsome' Leadsom was trying to do.

or take the shells off cashew nuts. Nah, he makes his wife do the former and the latter are unavailable with the shells on because of their urushiol content. Or I wonder if he's cracked open many coconuts. They're all great foods, just not human friendly in their whole state.

An ignorant man who cherry picks what few facts he has should be an object of derision, not a destination for money from people who can't afford it but are frightened of hell.

That's why everyone disagrees with each other.

Good, bad, right, wrong, these concepts exist nowhere but in the human imagination. We're all just making shit up as we go. If we agree with something, we're all far more likely to find a justification for it. If we don't agree with it, we're far more likely to never accept any justification for it.
