A man arrested last week on suspicion of waging a murderous campaign against San Diegos homeless population has been released, suggesting that a serial killer could still be on the loose.
San Diegos police department announced on Monday it had released Anthony Alexander Padgett, who was detained last Friday in connection to a grisly spree of stabbings and burnings that killed three men and wounded another.
Captain Dave Nisleit will hold a press conference this afternoon to announce the release of Anthony Alexander Padgett and discuss the status of the investigation into the attacks on San Diegos homeless, a press statement said. We need the publics assistance to provide additional tips and leads to help us solve these crimes.
The revelation will renew fear among San Diegos sizeable homeless community and raise embarrassing questions for authorities about last weeks manhunt, the biggest in recent memory.
