On the eve of the election Sandra Day O'Connor had made a public statement that a Gore victory would be a personal disaster for her. Clarence Thomas's wife was so intimately involved in the Bush campaign that she was helping to draw up a list of Bush appointees more or less at the same time as her husband was adjudicating on whether the same man would become the next President. Finally, Antonin Scalia's son was working for the firm appointed by Bush to argue his case before the Supreme Court, the head of which was subsequently appointed as Solictor-General.[59]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_v._Gore

(20,998 posts)You should be worried about your place in history. You DIRECTLY aided and abetted the theft of the POTUS from the lawful victor and handed it to one of the WORST POTUS EVER. More damage was done to our country, our planet and our species in the eight years of cheney*/bush* than you can ever atone for.
I hope your active participation in the rape of democracy haunts you until the day you die.

(20,998 posts)...The Raygun, she was somewhat of a hero in that she was the first woman to sit the Bench. She was also an Arizona girl, growing up in Duncan, just 40-ish miles or so where I grew up in Safford. She was a moderate Republican and gave me hope that maybe we could move in the right direction on many issues, chiefly among them, women's health and reproduction rights. Her stand with the other members of the SCOTUS felonious five ripped the remaining rose glasses from my eyes.
Again, I hope her part in the debasement of democracy haunts her to her last dying breath. She was part and parcel of turning this country to the dark side.

(34,491 posts)I stopped thinking highly of her after that partisan vote. They all knew they were handing the presidency illegally to that wanna be cowboy.

it was her vote that screwed this nation for decades if not a century.
they all should have recused themselves and allow the constitution to do what it was designed for in the first place.

(82,849 posts)Pshaw, I say. I am reliably informed by many people around here that all that is nothing - nothing! - compared to Justice Ginsburg calling Trump a faker. Not Scalia and Cheney going duck hunting together while Cheney had a case pending before the Court. Not Scalia's or Thomas' or Alito's addresses to the Heritage Foundation or the Cato Institute or Liberty University about issues and cases. None of that so much as holds a candle to the awful, awful pronouncements of Justice Ginsburg.

(24,461 posts)She exchanged personal disaster for public and historical disaster. She knew what a risk the Failure Scion would be and she decisioned poorly. Mrs. 5-4 was directly responsible for war crimes, terrorism and two recessions, the second being the worst financial disaster this country saw in 75 years. She made the wealthy more emboldened than ever.
If Roadkillhead wins and Republicans control all three branches, the Jumanji game Bush started is going to be finished and this cock-up is going to be biblical.
