Toby Keith"First of all, were going to stop somebody from getting a marriage license because theyre gay? You wont stop them from living together, so what have you accomplished? Wasting a lot of money here and a lot of time that could be spent working on this deficit that were under I never saw the reasoning behind getting in peoples personal lives, said Keith.
As for repealing Dont Ask, Dont Tell, Keith is fully behind the repeal saying that anyone with the training and passion to defend the country should, and said specifically that Somebodys sexual preference is, like, who cares?

In addition, Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts, and Martina McBride have been supportive of their gay fans.
Country Music does have a long way to go in the acceptance of others. However, there are people who have ruffled feathers over various issues.
Loretta Lynn wrote and sang a song entitled 'The Pill.' it was supportive of contraception. Some people almost had strokes. She didn't get ostracized because she was too big of a star AND she would have told them to go to hell. She is conservative in other ways, but she will speak her mind.
Don't lump them all together.

Haters base their opinion on ONE SONG and what he thought of the Dixie Chicks. Not everybody loves the Dixie Chicks (which, by the way, has anybody heard from them lately?).
A lot of us felt like Toby did when he recorded the "boot in your ass" song. Hell, I did. I wanted blood! I wanted to kick somebody's ASS! Why? Because for all it's faults, this is MY COUNTRY, dammit, and you don't fuck with us with no repercussions!
Toby's one of US. Pay attention.
