no need to take language apart or trying to decipher any part of it.
The fact of the matter is...This Speech and the reaction to it in the Center was FRIGHTENING!
End of Story..
We need to move ahead now as a unified party to make sure that this fear monger is squashed
into history to the point that he will never be relevant again..

(2,902 posts)I wasn't paying attention, but what I did hear was rambling and didn't make any sense. How could that be threatening?

(6,716 posts)it already is. I have seen several minds change on other boards, Twitter, etc. where they were not ready to get behind Hillary. It was like a light switch. It will definitely gain momentum over the next week.
The only thing is that we have to be vigilant against the media. A lot of them were happy with tonight's fright fest. We need to understand that they will consider next week boring and not as good as this week. We ALL know that will not be the case.

I know I've heard the same sentiments from other men and they didn't work out well at all if they got into office at any level.
He'll get a ratings bump and then Clinton will remind people what competence sounds like.
I hope it's enough. I lived through one Nixon. I don't want another one and this assclown will be worse.

One thing that might die with him if he gets in is any idea of a "unitary executive." Even the GOP would realize the danger of that one by the time he'd been squatting in the Oval Office for the first month.
He'd be the bull in the china shop, charging around full of equal amounts ignorance and overconfidance.

(4,033 posts)when he said there would be law & order on the streets, I envisioned military rule, curfews, round up of citizens, etc. It was beyond frightening.

(164 posts)Hi,
I used to think that the Republicans would own the mistakes made after they get back into power, but Trump is clearly not thinking about the Republicans. They've been had. Trump will do what he wants and blame anyone he likes.
At the broadest level, this has been a failure of democracy. There has always been the danger that democracy will validate a loose cannon populist or a charismatic fanatic, short circuiting party systems.
