One delivered Texas for JFK and the other padded Obama's victory margin. Running mates are safety plays. That's why Obama chose Biden.

Not that he helped deliver a key state. I had conversations with Bush supporters that admitted he didn't have what it takes to be president by Cheney etal would keep everything straight. You can't win with these people.

The media are still giving that fascist blowhard all the free air time he could ever want and the FEC hasn't stepped in and complained about it, much less ordered a cease and desist.

Clinton, on the other hand, is going to have to beg for any mention that doesn't tie her to some made up Republican scandal.

So yes, he's going to be very hard to beat in a system as corrupt as ours has become no matter how nuts he gets.

The MSM's trying to make it look like an actual competition - that's how they make their money

The did the same thing with McCain and he had zero chance against Obama

but I'll have no problem voting for Clinton. We can all survive another Clinton.

However, McTrainwreck never had the star quality the sociopathic Trump possesses. The media are pushing him out there and the star struck and stupid are eating it all up. It would be no competition if both parties played by the same rules and had the same access to media. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

of Congress in 1934 when the Equal Time law was passed, and there wasn't a Republican President for certain.

Plus, the law is enforced by the FCC, not the FEC, and it doesn't apply to cable channels.

The FEC can't tell stations what they can or can't air, and frankly, I wouldn't want them to have that power.

With trump as the gop nominee she may feel there is less need to consider electoral strategy when it comes to VP.

as was discussed on tv, Kaine is fluent in Spanish

they talked about how effective he can be in, uh....FLORIDA.

that may or may not be true, but Silver didn't even take that into consideration

so he should stick to crunching the numbers

this is a case of gigo, writ large

that said, I am NO Kaine fan, by any stretch

EDIT: note on his page which schwing state has the most percentage effect on the EC....... too bad he doesn't even consider Kaine's influence there.

now, on to some place that has any plausible consideration for what Kaine can do for Florida. that's all I care about; somebody who will help in a key state, and all signs point to him, because of senate stuff, mainly, I guess

electoral votes

but so much is up for grabs, even Connecticut, according to somebody I heard

Reagan dems resurfacing, violence everywhere (fear+ignorance may be the overriding issue, and could change everything), for example, are impossible to factor in at this early point

who knows what can happen?

personally I'm hoping for trump to be involuntarily committed to St. Elizabeth's, maybe alongside the guy who shot Reagan.

the swing states.

and there is much uncertainty, with his populist appeal to the Idiocracy voter, what will happen in many heretofore safe blue states, chief of which could be Connecticut and New Jersey.

I really would like to relax and enjoy trump's long, slow, torturous unraveling, with a safe election in the pocket, but the violence/terror factor is completely unpredictable, and pugs ALWAYS win that one, with their simplistic, xenophobic appeals to fear and ignorance
