The Huffington Post Super PAC for Mitt Rmoney is in full gear today.

These are their headlines:

And that trade agreement is still in its negotiating stages. It's been in the works since 2002. Not News!
Who was the pResident then?
Yesterday on the radio I heard that the R's do not respect the DOJ investigators.... they want someone they "trust".
Yeah. Uh huh.

8. The Huff Post is only trying to see how many total "hits" that they can generate for their site

And they will use any combination of words that they possibly can to entice or deceive you into clicking onto their "stories". Those hit numbers all translate into reasons why their advertisers should keep on advertising with them, as well as why they should pay a greater amount of money for each ad. It is what is known as capitalism or greed, if you prefer. But it is also what makes this economy tick.

Inform the public as to what is happening in public affairs? Forget it! It is far easier to generate "hits" by pandering to the salacious and the sensational. The HP employee motto might be, "If it didn't happen, then make it happen".

Then is there any real difference between Jamie Dimon and Arianna Huffington?

In the words of Bob Dylan (pre days of the Internet)

A very great man once said
Some people will rob you with a fountain pen
Doesn't take too long to find out
Just what he was talking about
You know, a lot of people don't have much food on their tables
But they have a lot of forks....and knives
And they have to cut something

13. Boring non-story? Give it a vague, provocative headline and people will read it anyway.

Just take a look: How many headlines at HuffPost sum up the article correctly and how many pretend, there's some drama going on?

'New rule' for me when reading articles on HuffPost: If by the time I get to the third paragraph there is still nothing in the story that relates to the headline, I move my eyes elsewhere. Conversely, if by the third paragraph none of the combination of words that I have so far read make any sense, as they might relate to anything tangible in our society, I immediately lose interest in whatever the writer may have been trying to say.

I am totally amazed at how many people at HuffPost actually get paid for their inept use of the English language. I mean, these people aren't volunteers, they are paid staff writers for chrissake! And I am sure that HuffPost doesn't employ editors either. I am blown away by all of the miss spelled words, incorrect use of word tense, omitted words, repeated words in a sentence and sentences that flat out just don't make any sense. I am even willing not to mention incorrect or omitted punctuation in my list of on-line garbage that their site throws at us.

If a student only minors in journalism in high school, I would think that they would still be qualified to apply for work at HuffPost. But in all fairness I must say that from all that I have seen elsewhere, HuffPost isn't that much worse than even the news sources on the right. In this fast paced society, nobody really cares if they get it down right anymore. And for that I am sad to say, we are all a little less.
