(6,868 posts)Uh, stop being single-issue voters.
There is much more than the TPP at stake in November.
I've noticed that 2 of the 3 ladies interviewed appeared to be very young and don't seem to know much more than "TPP bad. Bernie good."

(14,608 posts)I think Al Franken was a bit sophisticated for some of the convention-goers as well.
But make no mistake, many Bernie supporters are fairly well-read and well informed on the issues. Tonight I heard Bernie thunder about minimum wage, poverty, hunger, going back to free tuition at state colleges (used to be that way mostly and definitely so back in the land grant days). I heard him talk about overturning Citizens United, enacting a 21st century Glass-Steagall Act to better regulate Wall Street, split up the too-big-to-fail banks and aggressively fight climate change with a sane energy policy.
Sure, it was a stump speech, but those issues are REAL, and I'm sick to death of politicians taking my tax dollars and doing NOTHING with them that benefits me in the least.
By the way, I was proud tonight. I posted on the Hill and got called a 'parasite.' How cute.
But I'm real and there are millions like me. The Dem party must open its tent to accommodate us and Bernie made that clear. So I will not only vote for Clinton, but I will support her campaign. I will do everything I can possibly do to get her in the WH, but then she'd better do everything she can to come through on these promises.

(6,868 posts)I actually supported Hillary in 2008, but when Obama won the nomination, I voted for him in 2008 and 2012.
I understand the disappointment when your candidate doesn't win.
It is not how one acts when things go well for them, but how they act when they don't, that says the most about their character.
Al Franken, Sarah Silverman, Cory Booker, Michelle Obama, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders, gave a great set of speeches.
Oh, and everybody gave a unique speech!
EDIT UPDATE:
I also agree that when Hillary is elected, she must reward that faith in her by actually doing what she and Bernie say she will do.
If she does not, she will be a one-term President, and I do not want that to happen.

(14,608 posts)I'm thinking people will come around. The choice is pretty stark, and we all KNOW that MSNBC, owned by Comcast, owned by GE, will certainly try and boost ratings by rooting out the least little amount of controversy. You bet. It's all about old male liver-spotted white capitalists eking out the uttermost farthing of profit for their media station's advertising.
That said, Bernie made it pretty clear between the lines that Clinton and the rest of the Dems better deliver some nice juicy bones for the working class, and I expect the Dem establishment has gotten that message clearly. At least I hope so. Fervently.
I'm voting Clinton, but she'd better at least try and come through on the promises Bernie people extracted on the platform committee.
