As a result, the room seemed tense. Attendant reporters pressed Trump on his casual assertions, and Trump tried to freestyle his way out of trouble. At one point, NBCs Katy Tur drilled Trump on whether it was appropriate for him to askeven as a jokethat Russia or China to search for the emails Clinton deleted from her private server. In the midst of a back-and-forth, Trump says to Tur: Be quietI know you wanna, you know, save her.
The way to annoy Trump is to poke at his self-created unflappability. A reporter returning to a tossed-off comment to ask him what he really meant is one way of doing that. When the reporter is a woman, Trump feels emasculated, and lashes out. If he manages to win this election, his press conferences from the White House should be, uh, something.

(58,724 posts)She was the half-his-age girlfriend of Keith Olbermann, and then magically ended up jumping from The Weather Channel to prime time MSNBC news coverage.
Her reporting is generally mediocre to poor.

(1,590 posts)what your journalistic standards are, and you are entitled to you opinion. The totality of her professional work speaks for itself. She is a very good reporter IMHO.

(58,799 posts)If she's young and new, maybe she has some things to learn. IMHO that doesn't mean she isn't a good reporter.
I'm looking forward to her getting more face time.

(7,113 posts)She said he can't stand not being in the press, what with all attention being on the DNC, so he held that conference and made any number of outlandish, ill-conceived remarks hoping one or more would land him back in the news.

(7,274 posts)Question his genitals 'fer Chriss sake and he makes an enormous ass of himself. Ridicule his executive 'leadership' from "Celebrity Apprentice", and he's reduced to "unmovable rage." Question his fortune? Look out!
Belittle his womanizing, his compulsive need for constant self-reassurance, his business failures, his compulsion to grossly amplify his wealth, his incessant boastfulness about his 'awesome power" to always have his way, that he doesn't know many words, and he'll pop. Hell; he'll explode.
