frankly I'm a little embarrassed about that 15%

(I also got a 97% for Jill Stein. Honestly I thought that the vaccinations question would weigh more than 3% in the final tally)

Ok pic won't show but Hillary 98. Stien 96 Johnson 55 and trump 10.
Huh. I guess Jill is my second choice.
Having an identity crisis here. But at least trump is only 10 percent.
I think they just cloned the Hillary positions with Stiens and took off a couple points if you were an anti vax kook.

(18,402 posts)Please don't take them. Try thinking for yourself instead. Political choices should be made on more than just a checklist containing a limited roster of stated policy positions (which are too nuanced to be measured in this way as barometers anyway). One must also consider the issues not on the list; the experience, expertise, capabilities, and character of the candidate; the political chops the candidate has in getting elected and getting any stated policies enacted.
These so-called tests are the equivalent of taking your "hotness IQ" in a teen magazine, or applying to art school on the back of a matchbook cover.

(14,608 posts)define the questions for you and don't give you the actual choice you'd make. Like for instance, 'do you support Obamacare?'
I can't answer that yes or no because I'll be mistaken. I think Obamacare is a huge Heritage Foundation corporate welfare program for insurance companies but it is better than what we had before which was nothing. However, I want single payer, and failing that a single payer option within Obamacare.
See what I mean?
At least these questions allowed me to put in my own stances. Like for instance, end drone attacks, immediately disband the NSA and repeal the 'Patriot' Act, which is the worst piece of anti-Bill of Rights junk ever foisted off on Americans. No one ever asked me how many, if any, of my rights I'm willing to give up in order to be 'safe.' And that answer is not many. I can deal with TSA but the giant NSA security/data repository in Utah? NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO.
NO.
treestar
(82,383 posts)it is not a huge corporate welfare program. The government is paying part of my premium - that means the rest of America that is doing better is paying for me to be covered. Don't care if it causes insurance companies to have more customers and employ more people. It's a lot better than nothing, a LOT.

(1,429 posts)of a Clinton presidency vis-a-vis a Stein presidency. The outcome for me is an easy and stark choice. Sec. Clinton, by almsot every measure is the vastly superior candidate, and there are major systemic differences between the 2 at a multiplicity of points.
Maybe I am on the wrong board. I see so much push back here against Democrats whom I happen to support. Tim Kaine, DWS, Corey Booker, Maria Cantwell, Diane Feinstein, Bill Nelson, Bill Clinton, and for ages Hillary herself (searching to before I joined).
I am a young, entrepreneurial woman who is pro capitalism, pro free trade, pro business, as long as these are done in an environmentally sustainable and worker-fair way. I run my own firm this way. Much like Sec. Clinton I am pragmatic when it comes to defense , taxes, fracking, etc. I also am a lesbian of colour and very progressive on most social issues. I am very comfortable where the Democratic Party is on an ideological front atm. I am NOT comfortable with the Green Party overall. I think they are a threat inasmuch as they work indirectly to help elect Trump, who is the carnival barker of racist, misogynistic, fascist presentations, as well as those despicable qualities' champion for millions of bog standard troglodytic followers of his.
bluedigger
(17,091 posts)I don't like Stein either, but that doesn't mean the Green Party and Dems aren't closely aligned in many policy areas, as the quiz indicates. Our job is to bring them over to our side at the polls, not alienate them.

(1,429 posts)It gives vague and overly broad choices. A Stein presidency would look nothing like a Clinton one and would be a disaster from so many angles.
oberliner
(58,724 posts)But I think we often forget about the many issues that we take for granted that both Hillary Clinton and Jill Stein are on the same side of and the Republicans are on the opposite side of yielding results where you can match Clinton and Stein in the 90s while the Republicans are in the 20s.
Such as:
Abortion is a woman's unrestricted right
Legally require hiring women & minorities
Comfortable with same-sex marriage
EPA regulations are too restrictive (Both Disagree)
Make voter registration easier
Absolute right to gun ownership (Both Disagree)
Expand ObamaCare
Vouchers for school choice (Both Disagree)
Prioritize green energy
Stimulus better than market-led recovery
Higher taxes on the wealthy
Pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens
Privatize Social Security (Both Disagree)
Obviously these sorts of surveys are simplistic and don't reflect nuances, but even on these very basic concepts, right-wingers are on the opposite side of both Clinton and Stein.
Grey Lemercier

(14,608 posts)I only got a 94% for Clinton, a 94% for Stein, a 57% for Johnson and a 27% for Trump.
Of course I'm voting for Clinton. With Trump the only other major candidate, there is only one decision to make and that is Clinton. I like Stein but now that Sanders and we Sanders supporters have risen up and become so vocal, I'm thinking that we gave Clinton permission to move a little to the left, which I believe is her natural inclination.
But as Maher says, the Clinton's 'get there' eventually, but they aren't ever going to be the first ones there. But that doesn't matter. Again as Maher said, we are at the train station and we have two choices. One is the train that is going to our destination, but it is a bit slower than we'd like. The other is a train to...hell.
I'm getting on that Clinton train.

(14,608 posts)pro union, and saying he wants incentives for companies to keep jobs here.
While Trump is lying through his teeth on these issues because he truly doesn't give a shit about American workers, whatsoever, I do. I am very strongly pro union and I'm not 'anti' trade but I believe GATS, NAFTA and CAFTA should be renegotiated with an eye toward this nation being able to keep good jobs. And I strongly believe TPP needs to be rewritten WITHOUT the ISDS provisions, because I think these provisions seriously undermine local, state and federal democracy.
So Trump's flapping his jaws on these things, but I really do believe them.
Bucky
(54,106 posts)All he can do from here on out is watch his 44% shrink every time he opens his fool mouth and betrays his lack of character. The trick this year will be how much he can keep from floating over to Gary Johnson (and how much Clinton can hang onto too--I've seen polls suggesting Johnson hurts Clinton as much as he hurts Trump). I can see some of our Great Lake bluish states falling to Trump in a 40-40-16-4 split. That's our real worry.
