This is the right wing counterpoint I've heard all week.
A Democrat needs to point out each time that the Republican led Congress, including both
houses, has approval ratings in the low teens. So if that is the case, and Congress has
gridlocked most of the legislation this year to include Supreme Court Nominee of a popular
president, then the "wrong direction" isn't as much of a reflection of the Obama Administration
as it is a do nothing Republican led congress and Democrats need to state this point.
Benghazi wouldnt have gotten legs as a political weapon if Democrats had simply noted the 13 attacks
on similar embassies during Bush administration.
I believe Gore lost because he never simply challenged the "he said he invented the internet" meme.
And I believe Kerry lost because he overestimated the ability of the average independent voter to see the swift boat
attacks for what they were and allowed that narrative to continue.
Democrats so often seem to refuse to refute major assertions early and allow them to become "fact."

(356 posts)At least half of the respondents are dems pissed at congressional reps for constipating DC.
So 35 percent are reps and the other half are dems. So you could say that around 30 percent of the people like you think the country is going down. Rw media always make this out to be a 70 percent damning of the dems. But at least half of the discontented are dems who perceive that reps Are the problem. Heck. You see what I mean. Can someone parse this for me? That folks are mad for opposing reasons so 70 percent is misleading. Help!
