Peter Raubal and Heiner Hocheger, the sons of Hitler's half-sister, Angela Hitler, have threatened legal action against anyone who tries to equate the late Nazi leader and Uncle, Adolf Hitler, to Donald Trump. Hocheger, now 68 years old and living in England, and the family spokesperson, states "hasn't our family suffered enough for the evil deeds of our Uncle? All the members of the Hitler bloodline have consciously made a decision not to have children in order to end the Hitler bloodline. We want to just fade into history. But that becomes more difficult if someone like Donald Trump becomes President of the United States. Therefore, the remaining members of the Hitler family ask that all comparisons between Adolf Hitler and Donald Trump stop at once. We reserve the right to move in civil court against anyone who continues to use that analogy."
Admitting that he can understand where the comparisons come from and conceded that the similarities, "in some cases are uncanny", he once again demanded that the public comparisons cease.

From the OP after 8 hours:
This is Satire. I'm sorry that anyone really took it as authentic, but I guess that was the whole point. If this story was about anyone else except Donald Trump, any reader would have known it was satire. But in Trump's case, it really could have been true. That goes to show you, how scary is this guy?

(18,509 posts)Though now I wonder what Hitler's illegitimate French son would have thought.

(9,282 posts)Amazing the things you learn from the Bathroom Reader. It is very possible that Hitler had a son with a French woman.

(9,990 posts)...I don't believe evil is genetic (their choice not to have children). Notably, the country they live in (England) does believe evil is genetic, as evidenced by the country's belief individuals are "royal" by birth. I think Trump believes in his own genetic superiority. It seems, to me, his words and actions are that of a man who believes he is more than a mere mortal.

(1,907 posts)I think it is because of what they have gone through. IIRC Some nutcases would be upset harassing them because they weren't following the ways of hitler and trying to revive the third reich. Others were blaming them for hitler's war on the world. They went through a lot of grief and didn't want their children and descendants to go through the same thing.

(9,990 posts)...I would have denied any relation and disowned the name - but, I suppose the "media" would still be around.

(1,307 posts)I always thought their "we're not having children" thing was silly...like "look at us, we're not ~continuing~ the Hitler bloodline!" But you bring up a really good point

(47 posts)Naturally the common people don't want war; neither In Russia, nor In England, nor In America, nor In Germany. That Is understood.
But after all, It Is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and It Is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether It Is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.
Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That Is easy. All you have to do Is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same In any country.

(21,838 posts)Otherwise, this is a joke that bombed. Big time.

(8,652 posts)You think it bombed?
Look at the responses. The fact that it's believable is the point.
Let me lay it out for you. Trump is so bad and people compare him to Hitler, that Hitler's family is insulted.
The point isn't that it's not true. The point is that it's credible, just like onion stories.

(26,333 posts)That much is true. I saw a documentary on it, a while back. They absolutely did want to end the family blood line.

(9,176 posts)whip up hate to be elected. Hitler's family may want to forget, but we cannot do that. We have to make sure that it never happens again. Sorry if that is inconvenient to a family of a man responsible for 72 million deaths.

(4,187 posts)to indicate that it's satire. It looks like many people are going away with the idea that it's the truth, and that's a little offensive to the people mentioned, who can't be held responsible for the actions of their half-uncle.
Not everyone clicks on links, and not everyone reads the replies. This information should be there in the OP.

(4,187 posts)I get your point, by the way. My husband loves to make jokes no one gets. They sound very close to the truth, so people often think he's telling the truth. He finds it funny and ironic that no one gets them.
