ATHENS, GREECE: Sunday's Greek election is going to be incredibly close, as the establishment conservative candidate Samaras does battle with the radical left-winger Alexis Tsipras, of the SYRIZA party.
Any late shift could tip things, and tonight in Greece there's buzz about an open letter to the Greek people in the newspaper Bild, which basically says: Dear Greeks, who you choose tomorrow is your choice, but it's us Germans who keep your ATMs filled with Euros, so be careful which clown you pick (via @efiefthimiou).
If you choose not to honor your commitments, no more Euros from Germany.
Anyway, this is being talked about quite a bit, and you can probably figure how a letter from a right-wing German newspaper is going over. Suffice to say... it's not going to make anyone vote for the conservative.

(14,180 posts)late payback to the fucking Nazis for what they did to Greece during WWII. Since German banks and their stock- and bondholders will be the biggest losers if Greece exits from the Euro, I say "Rock On, Syriza" (and F-U Deutschland)

(3,032 posts)There is also a Greek Nazi party at play in this election.
It is also worth noting that their fascist dictatorship established later was essentially a puppet state of the US and NATO.

Agree with you that the military dictatorship was a U.S.-led creation.

(12,272 posts)But an FU to Germany would hardly affect the Nazis. It would, however, cause chaos all over Europe and eventually the US.

(14,180 posts)and stockholders of German and U.S. banks (most of them in the 1%). And it may cause German manufacturing to dive off a cliff, such that the German working class will throw Merkel out on her ass as soon as next week (via a vote of confidence in the Bundestag).
The German people elected Merkel and I'm not going to feel too sorry for them when they suffer the consequences of her 1%-centric behavior(s).
Actually, as to Greece's 'reverting to third world status,' see Argentina.

(1 post)There is a report that demonstrators in Athens and Madrid are physically CUTTING BANK COMMUNICATIONS by damaging financial data satellite uplinks and by cutting fiber- optics cables leading into major bank and stock market office buildings !
These moves ARE A GAME CHANGER for all Europe !
Any ' policy issues ' are now a MOOT POINT.
Also, world financial and markets transactions ARE INFECTED BY A VIRUS THAT COMPROMISES DATA SECURITY AND INTEGRITY !
This virus is SPREADING RAPIDLY IN EUROPE AND THE US business data communications sector !
