And if the school handles this mess expertly and fairly, they will be able to put the whole thing behind them.

And everyone can get back to whatever passes for a normal life.

And I wanted to ask you...

Would Sandusky ever be eligible for parole? Or was that not an option in this case? Somehow I doubt it, but I know you'd know.

which won't occur for several months, I think. Up to the judge. Somehow, I doubt he'll allow it. Likely be a series of 'consecutive' sentences, not 'concurrent.'

Bankrupt the athletic department and let its empty stadium stand as a silent reminder that cover ups are not tolerated.

The defense claimed they did not get enough time b/4 trial. The prosecution rested earlier than expected. The defense rested earlier than expected. The jury decide the verdict very quickly for that many counts.

Good luck on getting an appeal granted.....this community wants this to GO AWAY.
Sandisgusty's attorney said he expects sentencing will be in Sept. I'd bet it's much sooner than that.

There are still the trials for the PSU prez & police chief to go through. Bet they get handled quickly, too.

It might be over for Sandusky but it's not for the PSU hierarchy and others. This thing is bigger than just Jerry Sandusky. He had enablers and lots of them. I'm hoping Tom Corbett gets caught up in this whole cover-up.

May be the tip of an iceberg.

Many similarities to The Franklin Case:

Including the fact that both have connection to the Catholic Church. Interesting that Philly priests were convicted this week, too, in PA.

with that many convictions in criminal court where the standard of proof is that much higher, we have no prayer in civil court.

it's also been my experience that public agencies usually retain the services of outside counsel during expensive, high profile litigations.

but sounds like PennSt wants to avoid litigation, and rather settle. Diplomats, negotiators, mediators.

my city council right now has engaged the services of two firms for expensive lawsuits... and when it come to Prop A and B, they are shopping for a third. The reason is conflict of interest.

Not that many folks realize this. You really need to attend city council meetings, it is not published

few legal resources within, not at all similar to State of Pennsylvania or Penn State Univ, who, I suspect, could come up with capable counsel both to litigate and mediate.
