corruption in congress

the washington post has come up with an investigative report covering trading by congresscritters while they are workign on legislation affecting the companies

34 congressmen/senators reworked their portfolio's after meeting secretary paulson during the financial crisis (15 GOP and 19 dems)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politi...g0V_story.html

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) reported buying $25,000 in bonds in a genetic-technology company around the time that he released a hold on legislation the firm supported. Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-Ky.) sold between $50,000 and $100,000 in General Electric stock shortly before a Republican filibuster killed legislation sought by the company. The family of Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Tex.) bought between $286,000 and $690,000 in a high-tech company interested in a bill under his committee’s jurisdiction

and we reelect these crooks year after year. I think if your in congress your should have to put your portfolio in a blind trust. if you dont want to do that then dont run for congress.

if your a congressman your ethics should be above reproach. and yet there are dozens of shady people in congress.

Throw em all out. GOP,DEM whatever. toss them all out and start over. after all how could it end up being much more screwed up

that the problem is Corruption Across the Board.

Unions aren't trusted because of corruption in it's history, and weakness recently.

Congress, really most pols, aren't trusted because of corruption.

Regulators aren't trusted ...

Judges aren't trusted...

Police aren't trusted...

Non-profit charities aren't trusted...

Shall I go on?

The problem humans face here and seemingly everywhere and through nearly all times, is corruption.

Known facts that change nothing and it is still corruption and should be fixed. PERIOD.

Why do you think a law was just passed to address the insider trading? For the fun of it? Next question is why was it legal for them and not everyone else, next question is.... and it is peeling a fucking onion. I say Pffft....Yes: The problem humans face here and seemingly everywhere and through nearly all times, is corruption.

AND? I mean when you let it continue, we are where we are now! So what do you propose? Give up? That is what you wrote. Go ahead and give up....A LOT of people might just be happier if they gave up, and they probably should then. Let the patriots fight the battles because that is what all this is about and anyone that can't see that is blind in my book. This about more than just money!!!!!! The money comes with the POWER. Smell the coffee.

You've got people that do all this SHIT, and they try to take your vote. Wow. I just don't know what to say to people that think like that. May as well move to f'ing Zimbabwe or Haiti even, or to China then.

6. Not attacking. Just stating facts. I apologize that you felt that way

I did not mean to give that impression. It was what I saw in what you wrote....and it is what you wrote.

All it takes is one blatant lie, and your whole post becomes crap. You lied about what I wrote, no facts and easily checked.

Bless your heart.

I stated current facts, what is happening now and probabilities.

You stated history:

"The problem humans face here and seemingly everywhere and through nearly all times, is corruption. "

This is not a history class, we already know. No bless your heart, not mine. You missed the entire picture. I'm fine. I know whats going on already. I also take my apology back you ____. It was not warranted to begin with. Have a good evening.

Your one of the ones I don't care about with stuff like this. You rationalize to much. You figure it all out on your own because in my book you are a liability. You take that to heart. You are not worth it.

9. Apparently you can neither read anyone else's typing accurately nor your own.

You don't even have to read the entire post to see where you claim to state facts.

Then immediately inside that post you state a complete fallacy by claiming I typed something I didn't, you are not trustworthy when you type, you've proven that now, and all posts will be read with that in mind.

OIC you've edited now, good thing the edits are viewable to all.
