Republicans talk big on enforcement but their Big Money owners love to pay those low wages.

Republican politicians always talk tough on cracking down on illegal immigrants, but only come election time. The rest of the time the do nothing at all because the companies that donate the money want an "illegal" work force because like you stated, they like to pay the low wages. If there were a "real" immigration plan, one to get people who really want to work the chance to get work permits and become legal workers, then those same companies would not be able to pay lower wages simply because the know the illegals will work cheaper, and if there are problems they won't go to the authorities because they are here "illegally".

The problem is, as has been stated already, the average republican voter just can't seem to see this. They "think" republicans are going to "fix" the problem, the talk tough, so these uniformed people voter for them and yet nothing ever happens. Same thing with all the other "wedge" issues republicans use to get their base all worked up, it's all talk and not action, yet these people just keep voting for them over and over and over. That doesn't say much for the republican base, now does it!

when they call Immigration a few hours before they hand out paychecks.

neither will do anything about this.

Net result: dropping wages and working standards.
