A state appellate court ruled on Tuesday that a New York City police officer who found a concealed handgun on a 14-year-old in the Bronx during a stop-and-frisk encounter in 2010 did not have sufficient cause to search him, and reversed his conviction.

Almost 90% of those subject to stop and frisk are Latino and African American. No one should go along with the thinking that this policy is a good idea.
