Those 30 cowards that are voting with Issa tomorrow should be thrown out of the Democratic Caucus

on principle.

To be honest, Pelosi and Hoyer hasn't been doing exactly a great job rounding up the Democrats and bringing them in line.

Confirmed cowards (based on statements)

Jim Matheson (D-UT) - Leader of the Blue Dogs coalition
Collin Peterson (D-MN)
Nick Rahall (D-WV)
John Barrow (D-GA)

26. I found this on "the Google":
Wed Jun 27, 2012, 08:39 PM
Jun 2012

"The pressure has been rising on 31 Democrats who a year ago joined a letter written by House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa to President Barack Obama, asking him to direct Mr. Holder and the Justice Department to work with the congressional investigation into Fast and Furious, the botched gun-walking operation. That list of 31—which included such members as Pennsylvania Reps. Jason Altmire and Mark Critz, Utah Rep. Jim Matheson, and Kentucky Rep. Ben Chandler—read like a who's who of vulnerable Democrats in the 2012 election. These members are aware that many voters in their swing districts have been focused on Fast and Furious, and at least last year wanted to be seen as aiding efforts to get to the bottom of the affair."

>snip<

"When the Hill newspaper contacted all 31 to ask their intentions, Mr. Cooper and three other Democrats (Ohio's Tim Ryan; New Mexico's Martin Heinrich; and Texas's Gene Green) said they would vote against contempt in the broader House. A spokesman for Maine's Mike Michaud said the congressman was undecided. The 26 others did not respond to requests for comment, although Utah's Mr. Matheson has since become the first Democrat to say he will vote with Republicans to hold Mr. Holder in contempt. As Mr. Matheson told the Salt Lake Tribune: "Sadly, it seems that it will take holding the attorney general in contempt to communicate that evasiveness is unacceptable." "

Wed Jun 27, 2012, 08:20 PM
Jun 2012

why would they change their winning plan now?

They have been infiltrating for years and have set up Conservative think tanks like Third Way and PPI to promote conservatism. The Koch Brothers even helped with the financing and personally kick started the DLC.

All is well for them, they would be weaker as the Republicans they are and they know it.

We are the ones that need to change strategy because our strategy of giving them all the power to fuck us from within has been a disaster. We even put infiltrators on the top of our ticket and wonder why we get Heritage Foundation laws being passed by "Democrats" that negotiate conservatism in our name.

Do you really want them stinking the tent up with elephant shit all the time?

So what's the difference when they switch parties?
The Democratic party needs to dragged back to the left kicking if screaming. If it takes losing a couple seats in order to get it done so be it. We have to look at the long term, not just election to election. The Republicons did it and look at the condition our country is in. We won't get any change if we keep putting the same people back in office hoping for a different result.

Remember, we do not have the pressure of a Communist party pulling from the left to help us find a true balance like we did last time.

Without that, FDR Democrats (the closest thing to the true center in America) are pulling the rope alone against the fascist right. We may very well end up with third world lives and fascism before we even have a chance.

It's less that they've been 'let in' and more that they are 'still there.'

Alot of this has much to do with regional identity. Many conservative Dems come from conservative places with longstanding ties to the Democratic party, going back to when the parties were very different. West Virginia is a perfect example. It's fairly conservative in many ways, but still retains a lot of its old allegiance to the Democratic party (though not in presidential politics).
