(1,448 posts)Republicans will kill it will cause them to be the minority party for at least 40 years. We will witness some desperate actions as they commit kamikaze on the Act and Pres. O up to the election.

(57,936 posts)For this reason, we have to set aside our dismay with the militarism and the assault on human rights. Asserting our rights in those areas will have to wait for another day. We really need universal healthcare, and I think we are on the path to getting it.
An ironic story. Someone I know very well who hates Obama's health care bill and argues that our healthcare is the best in the world has had to wait and wait and wait and wait to get a knee operation. The best in the world?
You wait for procedures everywhere, not just in countries that have universal healthcare. Our healthcare is certainly no better and less available than in countries with single payer.
