Former Michigan GOP spokesman says armed rebellion justified by SCOTUS ruling on Obamacare

http://www.michigancapitolconfidential.com/17151

The former spokesman for the Michigan Republican Party sent out an email that said armed rebellion was justified over the Supreme Court ruling upholding Obamacare.

Matthew Davis, an attorney in Lansing, sent the email moments after the Supreme Court ruling to numerous new media outlets and limited government activists with the headline: “Is Armed Rebellion Now Justified?”

Davis added his own personal note saying, “… here’s my response. And yes, I mean it.”

“You can’t have people walking with lattes and signs and think the object of your opposition is going to take you seriously,” Davis said. “Armed rebellion is the end point of that physical confrontation.”

I'd actually be more alarmed if he didn't. He's advocating armed insurrection. I don't want some idiot like this out there speaking like he is speaking for anybody but his deranged self.

When things don't go our way, we live with it. When they don't get their way, they want to shoot somebody.

Good luck with that armed rebellion. You will lose -- probably your LIFE.

You can't have people walking around, whether they are in suits and ties or drinking lattes, screaming about armed insurrection without the Secret Service getting involved.

Just a friendly reminder, Davis. Most of us in the United States respect our legal process and our representative process. We respect the legislative process. If you take the law into you own hands, expect most of us to disagree with you and demand justice.

FBI and U.S. Attorney would be the ones bringing charges of 'sedition' or 'insurrection'.

But definitely cause for an investigation and indictment, imho.

against the President, which directly involves the Secret Service. Other than that, yes, I'm sure the FBI and US Attorney's office would be involved. In any case, this kind of bs needs to be nipped in the bud. I'm getting tired of seeing people threaten President Obama and get away with it. It's disgusting and not only shows a lack of respect for our President, it shows a lack of respect for the office.

These people should be ashamed of themselves. When they disrespect the President this way, they shouldn't dare call themselves patriots.

This is the logical conclusion of his statement.

The only way to curb such incendiary statements is to publiclly call out the logical extension of the statement - and let those making the statements support (yep - that is what I said and what I meant) or back off from it.

What else is an 'armed rebellion' than the start of a civil war?

Put his words into their real extension and put that into the public discourse. Are people ready to start killing one another over health-care reform? If not, than ridicule such rhetoric for the vacuousness that it represents (all trying to manipulate emotions, but nothing about really ready to participate in a war against neighbors.)

He's probably one of those guys who thinks the entire military would defect to the teabagger side. News flash for this fucko, there are a good many people who take their oaths seriously, especially the part about obeying the orders of the commander in chief, and the part about defending this nation even against domestic threats.
