I mean, really? Where will the slippery slope stop? First it's healthcare, next thing they'll tax me and use that money for the military. Or schools. OMG, what to do?

(32,181 posts)The military is specifically mentioned as a duty of Congress in the Constitution. The federal government does not mandate schools. Local and state government does.

(32,181 posts)Schools and education are not mentioned as a duty of the federal government in the Constitution. The federal government can not just do anything it wants. It has to be a duty given to it in the Constitution.
