We Should Be Flooding The Media With This Talking Point

I'm not a big fan of the individual mandate, but just think of it this way: with all the millions of new customers (and billions of new dollars) being delivered to their doorstep, just think how many new JOBS the private insurance industry will be creating in the near future. Because, as we all know, when you give away money to the rich and the mega-corporations, they ALWAYS use it to create JOBS, right? Right?

I like it because it forces right-wingers to choose between which of their core beliefs they want to admit is bullshit.

I'm not kidding; I really think we should be calling in to every call-in show and getting this message out to every media outlet we can. You could even try to sneak onto right-wing shows by saying that this healthcare ruling will prove once and for all the genius of trickle-down economics. I mean, really lay it on thick. Set it up so you sound like a typical right-winger, trumpeting trickle-down economics and then saying that the insurance industry, and all the new jobs it will be creating due to this massive influx of new money, will be responsible for leading this country's economy back to prosperity, all through the infallible trickle-down theory. Then just sit back and see what the host says in response. I, for one, would LOVE to see Limbaugh sit there dumbfounded trying to figure out whether to praise Obamacare for being a catalyst of Reaganomics or to actually admit that giving money to the insurance industry won't result in any more jobs.

Just recording their responses and then using those recordings 6 months or a year from now when (surprise, surprise) the insurance industry DOESN'T provide any new jobs (maybe even calling back in and playing their responses back for them) would be a pretty good smackdown. And you wouldn't even have to lie to get on the air, saying you want to talk about one thing and then abruptly shifting gears (thus revealing yourself as an infiltrator and getting swiftly cut off). Just tell him that you love Ronald Reagan (OK, that part's a lie) and that this ruling will be definitive proof that Reaganomics works, because the insurance industry is about to explode with new jobs.

Then just sit back and listen while the right-wing host sputters and tries to decide whether to shit or go blind.
