Somewhere in a parallel universe - Romney is president, and conservatives are hailing the ACA

Somewhere in a parallel universe...Romney secured the GOP nomination in 2008, and went on to win the Presidency. He passes the very pro-corporate ACA - exactly same as our version. Progressives challenge the law, it goes to the SCOTUS, where Roberts sides with the other conservative justices.

Conservatives nationwide hail the ruling, proclaiming that the private sector (buzzword for corporate interests) is the answer. The law includes provisions for public assistance - but of course, the conservatives will make sure that is woefully underfunded.

Basically - if the current bill had been passed by a rethug administration - conservative reaction would be much different.

The Health Care Law that passed, to me was a conservative measure.
However, even though I am still against it, I am also against repeal just because the cost of repeal, as well as how our insurance rates would just skyrocket immediately to punish the consumers on having something like that any way, citing the administrative costs that they have incurred to comply with the law, it is a complete loss.

Though yes, I agree that it is a very flawed piece of legislation. I am still glad it was not repealed due to the crazy uncertainty it would bring.

There are bits and pieces for each side to like and dislike.

However - there is still the danger of repeal - which makes the November election very important.

I was really looking forwards to writing in a candidate...
Sadly, I can't do that any more. I am still no Obama fan, but will vote for him this December.

Any how, Romney still has not shown what he will do with a replacement if he would repeal. He really seems to be an empty suit given a voice box to state whatever position would get him some sort of applause.
