(9,527 posts)more seriously and do something about the hackable paperless voting machines that GA and other states use. If anyone has access to Ossoff, he should be warned about this.

(9,527 posts)On the contrary. Voting is critical and so is doing something about the vulnerability of our elections.
mythology
(9,527 posts)It's the left's version of Republicans talking about in person voter fraud. It doesn't happen.
What we should spend efforts on is defeating gerrymandering and voter id laws that target minorities and young people.

(9,527 posts)There is massive evidence that they are highly hackable and very vulnerable; they also malfunction and break down.

(19,205 posts)when races are this close they NEVER SEEM to go the Democrats. Republicans ALWAYS seem to "eke out" a win, and there's ALWAYS some "irregularities" in the voting, but those are quickly pushed aside for the inevitable victory party the Republicans have in place. It's almost as if they KNOW these elections are going to go their way! Ossoff and his staff should be on the lookout for his opponent's phone call records to Russia.

(493 posts)This is too close ,,,We need to get involved heavily ,,,ALL OF US
Daily Kos put out its own call for donors to help defeat the 24 most vulnerable Republicans who voted for the bill. In less than four hours, the site collected nearly $200,000 from more than 4,000 donors. That was even before Daily Kos emailed the fundraising appeal to its 3.5 million members.
ActBlue was on its way to an additional $300,000 raised by the time this story was published and has probably climbed much higher since.
Americans are going to be shocked to wake up to find out, Trumpcare bill passed, many millions more will lose their coverage.
New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has never backed away from a fight with Donald Trump and hes tended to win those battles. Schneiderman has succeeded in taking down the phony Trump University and the fraudulent Trump Foundation. Hes also reportedly bringing state level RICO indictments against the Trump organization
And today, Schneiderman is also going after Trump over the AHCA.
Heres the official statement which New York AG Eric Schneiderman released today: The healthcare bill passed today by House Republicans is a threat to the health and wellbeing of all New Yorkers. In addition to the devastating impact this bill would have on every New Yorkers access to affordable healthcare, the legislation that passed the House today is unconstitutional in several critical respectsand I stand ready to challenge it in court.

(21,284 posts)How many times will it take for people in Georgia to realize they have programmed those voting machines for republican wins.
That said, vote Ossoff and overwhelm the voting machines. Only paper voting and hand counting is the true reliable way to run a legimitate election.

(9,527 posts)Voter fraud is a repub myth to justify voter suppression - rigid ID laws, purging registration lists, etc. Dems need to take ELECTION fraud much more seriously and do something about paperless, hackable, unauditable voting machines, AND voter suppression like INterstate Crosscheck .

(94,987 posts)...there's no hard evidence, and no Democratic political leader claims its happening. Republicans steal elections the old fashioned way; let's keep the focus on that.
Amaryllis
(9,527 posts)There is tons of evidence that voting machines are highly vulnerable and many computer/electronic experts have been sounding the alarm since at least 2000. Just do a google search. Anyone who thinks they are not problematic has not researched it.
Debra Bowen when she was CA SOS got the JFK Profiles in Courage award for her work to make voting machines more secure.
This is an excellent and very credible site:

(1,349 posts)These morons need to be told that they're classifying pregnancy as a preexisting condition, so the precious fetuses are in danger by the GOP and the anti-choice, pro-death squad.
athena
(4,187 posts)Or pro-life-of-a-bunch-of-cells, where the life of the woman doesn't matter?
Calling the anti-choice position "pro-life" is an insult to women everywhere. We are not mere receptacles for fetuses. We are human beings, and our lives are lives, too. Forcing a human being to undergo nine months of pain and discomfort, followed by a dangerous medical procedure that will at worst kill her and at best leave her with lasting health issues, is not a "pro-life" position in a world where women are considered people, and where women's lives matter, too.
mdbl
(4,976 posts)as my post about him being pro-life was a comment on a lot of dorko voters in GA, but I like your phraseology.
athena
(4,187 posts)It allows them to define the narrative, and to do so in such a way that the woman is not even in the equation. "Anti-choice" is a much more accurate term, in my opinion.
P.S. Why do we always let them decide what the wording should be? Not only have they come up with "pro-life" to describe a policy that leads to women's deaths, but they have turned "liberal" into a bad word, and they have abolished the adjective "Democratic". We need to start coming up with terminology to accurately and succinctly describe their hateful and hypocritical positions. Unfortunately, liberals are not good at this. We tend to be much too nuanced, subtle, and wordy.
mdbl
(4,976 posts)I won't use it anymore even in jest hoping to help change the narrative.

(70 posts)Nobody will question the outcome if the vote is close and the polls are close. For a Democrat to win they need at least a 5-7% lead going to the vote.
