Beyond the evil morality of the ACA repeal vote it is interesting to see that Paul Ryan can now count to 217.
Our main focus should be on the ethical, political and policy implications of the Republicans.
We should not, however, overlook the pure banality of the Republican Leadership. When Bohener was speaker it took almost three years for the Republican Congress to pass a Farm Bill. Let me repeat that, almost 3 years for Republicans to pass a Farm Bill. That is like the Harlem Globetrotters losing to the Washington Generals for 3 years straight.
It has been excruciating to watch Paul Ryan go through the weekly ritual of passing the same thing that they passed 44 times before this last election. Evidently the number 217 has some mystical power over Paul Ryan's ability to count. At least we don't have to go through the painful ritual of watching them pass a bill that died in the Senate WITHIN ONE HOUR over and over again.
And now for the absolute stupidest thing said today by the King of Banality
How am I doing? Am I doing okay? Im president. Hey, Im president. Can you believe it?
The answers are in order:
Painfully bad
Better than a chimpanzee
No I can't, in fact almost no one has been able to accept the actual reality of this fuck up beyond the most superficial level.
