The claim, repeated more or less verbatim by NPR's own Republican enabler David Greene, is that Democrat were calling for Comey's firing just days ago, so how can they complain now that Trump has actually done what they claim to have wanted?
Of course, that's idiotic, which means that the same stupid reasoning been repeated a million times on social media already. It conveniently ignores the fact that Democrats criticized Comey for interfering in the election, while Trump fired him for investigating Trump. Further, it pretends that the motivations are equivalent, and it allows the talker (Greene, in the current case) to sort of talk about the issue without actually, you know, discussing the gross impropriety of firing Comey while the Russia controversy is still front page news.
A better comparison would be to liken it to a CEO firing the HR department to stop their internal investigation into allegations of sexual harassment made against the CEO.
Of course, the media loves its "their both the same" false narrative, so we can expect to hear them cycle the bullshit on endless repeat over the next few weeks.
