He asked the newly sainted Rod Rosenstein to expand the investigation. St. Rod then wrote a memo justifying his firing. What a coincidence. -Joe Scarborough
Days Before He Was Fired, Comey Asked for Money for Russia Investigation
WASHINGTON Days before he was fired, James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director, asked the Justice Department for a significant increase in money and personnel for the bureaus investigation into Russias interference in the presidential election, according to three officials with knowledge of his request.
Mr. Comey asked for the resources during a meeting last week with Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general who wrote the Justice Departments memo that was used to justify the firing of the F.B.I. director this week.
Mr. Comey then briefed members of Congress on the meeting in recent days.

(9,675 posts)Follow through on Comey's directions, be a patriot, and be fired by Trump, OR do Trump's bidding and live to see another day.
The question is whether "another day" includes dropping the hammer on Trump in the future.
Hard to tell if Rosenstein was motivated by contempt for Comey or by instincts of self-preservation, or some sort of allegiance to Trump.
Time will tell.

(9,675 posts)He made the wrong choice.
That wrong choice will end up being his undoing.
He'll go down with Trumpco, and be a tiny footnote in the history books.

(1,865 posts)Will Rosenstein still approve the funds? If, as all the Repukes are saying on the tevee that the FBI is bigger than just Comey then the funds should be approved.
I guess we shall see.
