The fact that a man like Donald Trump could become president reveals a lot about our nation, none of it good. The Electoral College was supposed to save us from an unfit president. In a cruel twist of fate it paved the way for one.

A lot of this stuff was in print a year ago.... I remember reading about Manafort, Bannon, money-laundering, Atlantic city mafia ties, the Kushners, etc. last summer. But you know... Hillary's emails dominated the news coverage.
Everyone who could have prevented this ---the GOP, the press, the electoral college--- all of them are complicit, IMO.

Even if he resigns, we will be stuck with a Repub with same harmful right wing agenda in WH for years.
We can only hope their incompetence slows down their harmful agenda

I'd say prevent anyone with zero govt experience or non-successful business background?, they should be good at what they do, you still want to include people that want the job and not make it so only the certain elite can be president but it's just so huge and complicated these days.
Then again you could argue 45 is successful (kinda, sorta) and look what we got.
For better minds than I to figure out.
