Democrats are increasingly bullish about the prospect of a wave election in 2018 amid backlash against the passage of the House GOPs ObamaCare replacement bill and the snowballing revelations coming out of the White House.
Nonpartisan election handicappers have begun to shift the House further away from the Republican majority, in part due to President Trumps tepid approval ratings and the FBIs investigation into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.
While Republicans and ballot forecasters stress that theres still 18 months to go until the midterm elections, most concede that the trend lines are ominous.
Anyone who thinks the House isnt in play is kidding themselves, a former GOP aide told The Hill. The House healthcare bill is full of landmines and the constant White House drama Republicans have to defend is destroying any ability we have to be on offense or talk about a positive message.
Democrats have an uphill climb to flipping 24 seats and winning the House, given that gerrymandering and extreme polarization have reduced the number of swing districts nationwide.

(10,252 posts)Oh really??? No one is forcing Republicans to defend Trump. They CHOOSE to do that of their own volition. The could choose to defend their country, the constitition, and their constituents. But no, they choose to defend the system of corrupt money and power to keep the corrupt money flowing their way.

(3,194 posts)I'll believe it when I see it. The election is probably rigged, so there's really no way to know whether we're going to win until it's over.

(2,396 posts)so they can vote. Others have to get their ID when they are in Catch 22 situations or can't afford it. Gerrymandering is a teeny bit better.
These are some of the obstacles we have to overcome and I wish DNC was screaming about getting it done. We don't have much time!
