Former FBI Agent said something today that gave me hope

A recently retired FBI Agent (high level - not Comey level but high) said that when new agents start with the FBI, they take them to the Holocaust Museum because they want them to see what happens when an agency gets too much power. Said FBI just wants truth, whether or not the truth acquits a person or convicts them.

Every day gets worse for the world's view of Americans: 'How could they have voting this monster into power?'

And in the reporting:
"On Twitter, many users noted that Trump's guestbook entry tallied up less than 140 characters, and wondered if the president's prolific tweeting had sneaked its way into his writing style more generally."

You could hardly be less respectful to the gravity and horrible history behind the phrase "never forget" than that message he wrote. I don't think he even knows why those words mean what they do.

It was always interesting the wide variation in quality among Federal LE.

My opinions:

FBI- true professionals
Secret Service- true professionals
US Marshalls- usually straight up but can be a bit reckless
BATFE- total opposite of the FBI. Unprofessional, self serving, little regard for upholding the law and a deeper interest in just furthering careers.
DEA- somewhere between BATFE and US Marshalls

Some of the most interesting and professional folks I ever worked with were from lesser known agencies like the Office of Secure Transport or TVA armed agents.

13. A reason why govt contracting is bad

We want full time govt employees who are loyal to the country.

Replacing them with contractors (who don't get the same orientation and have the same bond to the institution) weakens our nation.

Snowden was a contractor. Whatever you think about him, he now lives in Russia and is a tool of Russian propaganda.
