It's starting to drive me nuts lately.
"Omg man, that sports player is playing like such a fucking cuck"
"dude, you gotta stand up for yourself and not be a total cuck"
"Lul get cucked boy"
"Those europeans are all a bunch of total cucks"
"I fucking hate people who drive like fucking cucks. Some people need to man the fuck up"
It's become the new go-to word for anybody perceived as passive/beta or for anybody losing a contest/game/sports/whatever.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Basically, Comrade Casino* - is "cucking" the whole freaking lameass republican party. So to try and weasel out of facing their own horrid shameful reality, republicans are projecting it all over the place on to others.

(6,843 posts)A woman cuckolds a man. It's a slur against his weakness sexually to satisfy her. E.g. Trump is a cuck, Baron is probably a Kennedy...THAT is how the word would be used.

If you notice in the scandals over his harassment of women, most were married- some partnered to people he was "doing deals" with - he enjoys getting over on other men (making them a cuck ) more than he does the sex itself. It's no fun for him unless someone is being subjugated.

She left because her man was unable to satisfy her thus she had to go elsewhere.
Like I be said above, in Italy, Spain, etc. It is a well known insult. I grew up in the culture and spent my summer there.
And on edit
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuckold
It says exactly what I said it does. It has absolutely nothing to do with "stealing" a woman. It's a dude whose wife cheats on him because he can't satisfy her. Why do people want to turn shit into sociology class?
bettyellen
(47,209 posts)Patriarchal assumption that you can actually possess a woman. It's used for both men who allow it and those who were screwed over. It's we'll known in America among those who are well read. I know it's more of a thing in Italy becasue it's pretty much the most patriarchal country on earth, lol. Been there and done that.
Drahthaardogs
(6,843 posts)So she goes elsewhere. It is not some great Patriarchal belief etc. It's pretty simple and very crude. I spent every summer in Torino. I know what the word means.
bettyellen
(47,209 posts)used, much to your surprise. It's an English word that goes back before Shakespeare for christs sake.
Your friends in Torino sound just peachy.
Drahthaardogs
(6,843 posts)And somehow introduce misogyny into it. I am sorry you don't know what the word means or how it is used. Read the Wiki, it says exactly what I said it means and has absolutely NOTHING to do with women as property and stealing them. It is a common insult in France, Spain, Italy, and Germany and is considered on as vulgar to men as the C word is to women.
How you came up with your definition that this somehow is tied to women as property is beyond me. It's an insult to men, and yes, I have seen it used in country. I know what it means.
bettyellen
(47,209 posts)I'm sorry but trying to explain it by saying Italians used it isn't really helping your argument. It seems to all be flying over your head. Never mind, LOL.
Drahthaardogs
(6,843 posts)Lol = attempt to patronize because you have no idea what the word means and tried to make it mysoginistic.
Sexist means prejudice based upon sex, usually in the context against women. It fucking doesn't mean that. It's a slur saying you are a weak man who cannot sexually gratify your wife or girlfriend. I suppose that could be a sexist, as one could argue the stereotype is that a man should be virile enough to satisfy his partner.
Did you even read the wiki page? Because if you did, you would realize the Italians and I know what the word means. You don't, but come here and tell me I am wrong as are those macho italiani. You are wrong. Read the Wiki and learn something.
bettyellen
(47,209 posts)Yeah Latin people tend to obsess over the concept as much as Trump does. You'd think that would actually tel you something, but I guess not.
Drahthaardogs
(6,843 posts)Did you? The fucking word is described EXACTLY as I did, references to Europe and all.
Why. Won't. You. Read. The. Article?
I know why. It proves you wrong and you would rather talk shit than be corrected.

(12,839 posts)... by seducing that man's wife -- or, in the misogynist's mind "stealing" her.
Would definitely feed the misogynist's ego to cuckold his business partners that way.

Drahthaardogs
(6,843 posts)Not because of awesome seductive powers of someone else. That is how the slur is used and inferred when used as a pejorative.
It is the cuckolds ineptitude that causes his partner to stray. That is why it is such an insult.
Warpy
(111,467 posts)For them, it means a man who is so weak he can't control a woman.
And that shows exactly where their heads are.
Drahthaardogs
(6,843 posts)Fuck. How you guys make this shit into feminist agenda is beyond me. It means you are too weak a man to sexually gratify your woman so she gets sexual pleasure from other men. It is meant to degrade a man on his sexual prowess.
The symbol is the horned hand or corno with fingers up and rotate it. Go to Europe and you will see it just like the bird is flipped here.

(4,490 posts)In the current American sense, the meaning stated above is how these idiots used it in the MRA hate groups online, and how it's become a more popular insult since Trump came into office. There's a lot of crossover between these groups when it comes to younger male Trump supporters.
Drahthaardogs
(6,843 posts)MRA may have picked it up but the horns of the cuckold are an ancient slur just like touching your testicles or using the various signs to ward off the evil eye are ancient gestures.
If MRA picked it up feel free to tell the stupid asses they aren't using the word correctly. Don't validate them by accepting their definition. It had NOTHING to do with feminist, men's rights, or any other such position. It is a nasty slur used against a man calling his sexual ability into o question.

(5,611 posts)boundaries of the situation. But the top makes the decisions in a scene, and the bottom is supposed to follow directions (as long as the safeword is respected). The dom/domme must respect the bottom's safeword, and the dom/domme is supposed to establish absolute "don'ts" with the bottom before they engage in a scene. The dom or domme of course is supposed to guide the scene and take control of the bottom and make sexual and non-sexual demands of the bottom (these demands can obviously be made in a thousand different ways) but never to violate the strict boundaries that have already been established.
In the Bdsm world those rules are sacred, and a dom or domme who violates these rules OR a bottom who refuses to respect his/her top (it's called "topping from the bottom" are definitely frowned upon.

(6,635 posts)describing the alt-right's use of "cuck" sums up Trump's and the right-wing's "white male power" attitude toward women and race:
"The implications that a wife is her husbands property and that her cheating with a black man is more humiliating than it would be with someone of another race..."

(6,635 posts)One of the more glaring inequities of the English language is that it has a significantly larger number of words for a man whose wife is unfaithful than it does for a woman whose man is unfaithful. Cuckold is perhaps the best known of these words, and it has many synonyms, including (but by no means restricted to) cornute, cornuto, hoddy-doddy, hoddypoll, horn, ram, and wittol (a man who is aware of his wifes infidelity and acquiesces to it). What of a woman whose husband is unfaithful? For that our language appears to have but a single word, and an obscure one at that: cuckquean.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cuckold
The implication is that it is far more of a travesty if the wife is unfaithful, than the man. But then again, in a male dominated world where women are considered chattel, nothing less is expected is it?
