(207,352 posts)I had to drive through insane traffic on their way to see fireworks on my way home tonight, I'm just as happy to watch from a distance, either online or on TV! Same with my dog...

(207,352 posts)And we have fireworks here, too, just south of an amusement park, a ski center and a lake that's a huge tourist draw. We're subject to fireworks all week and every other night all season... Hope you had a happy and safe 4th!

(207,352 posts)Upstate, just south of Lake George (they're the ones with all the fireworks). Hope you're having a great visit with your brother. I intend to visit Seattle one day, I got a little familiar with the area since I used to be responsible for the television listings in the newspapers there and I became a fan.

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
