I've wondered about that:

"Today, marches tend to replace much of the work they are meant to demonstrate, namely organization- and infrastructure-building. "

With all the recent negative press Trump is drawing to his deathcare plan, I hear more people not only saying "we need national healthcare" or "we should all get healthcare like Canada" but "can't we have Medicare for everyone?" or "is there anyone working on a plan for national care?"

Thanks for posting this.

And good to see you're still here

I do most of my agitation on FB now. Plus, DU is not NEARLY as "Underground" as it used to be. MUCH more of a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party than it was when I first appeared on the scene.

Part of the success of the forum I think. When DU took the lead on the Wisconsin uprising back in 2011, it put this forum on the map and drew the attention of the powers that be in the Dem party. They did what they always do and dragged it to the right.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
