Blockchain for partial election protection..?

What do the computer experts here on DU think of using Blockchain technology to secure parts of our election system...? I say partial protection because if I understand what I'm reading correctly, this tech would only secure the individual vote and not other factors such as the all important counting of the votes...

According to this article Putin may already be implementing blockchain technology into the Russian economy.

An opposing view, I think

So... to a novice like myself blockchain technology sounds like a credible part to the solution of election integrity... but I'm curious as to what more experienced users think...

I'm thankful for any input...!!!

Not sure if we're ready to digitize voting to this extent, but if we were, blockchain would be the way to go.
