Maybe I'll answer truthfully, or you could get snark. BTW, it's 90° here, and they are sending us back south. F*ck, it'll be late when I get home.

(54,256 posts)I hear the train a comin'
It's rollin' 'round the bend
And I ain't seen the sunshine
Since, I don't know when
Well, I'm stuck in Folsom Prison
And time keeps draggin' on
But that train keeps a-rollin'
On down to San Antone

(14,576 posts)told me that when women got married in the days of your that women dropped their middle name and used their maiden name in it's place.
Is that true or did she make that up because she hated her middle name?

(14,576 posts)Her middle name was Avril. Funny thing is I liked it. This was before Avril Lavigne became famous. I was going to name my 2nd daughter Avril but one thing stopped me. I never had a 2nd daughter.

(34,141 posts)In fact the earliest version of her birth certificate I have seen says "unnamed female child" with her father's surname. She was called by a boy's nickname and that has been her name since. So when she got married, she finally had a middle name for the first time!
mercuryblues
(14,576 posts)mother's birth certificate said baby girl with her dad's surname. Her mothers name was left blank, because she was an American Indian.

(59,519 posts)I used the full name on anything I wrote for work - so people who knew me for the 13 years I worked before I got married would recognize the name.

(652 posts)My parents were efficient. Their daughters didn't have a middle name because when we married, our maiden name would become our middle names. That's what I did, but only because my husband refused to change his last name to my maiden name.
