We have distributed over 2 million free eclipse glasses to over 4,800 library locations (public libraries, state libraries, book mobiles, tribal libraries). This represents approximately one-third of all libraries in the country. To find a library in your area, zoom in on the interactive map below
then click on a drop pin for contact information.

(184 posts)They were going to distribute the eclipse glasses the day of / day before the eclipse. That didn't sound like enough lead time, so I bought a few pairs from one of the many web sellers.

(146,364 posts)It's important to actually use the libraries. They keep records of such things, which they use when trying to continue to get funding.
Get a library card, check out materials. Use your local library or it will disappear.

(50,346 posts)Of course I know we still have libraries, but given the current GOP agenda they might not be funded very well.

(65,590 posts)Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
