(34,161 posts)The only chance of reaching Trump/his minions, is for Fox News to carry the info - so (especially) when they get it wrong, the only chance to get it corrected is to get them to correct it.

(10,500 posts)Why do we allow lies in news? Oh yea, Fox News won an appeals case where they were caught intentionally lying and the Court of Appeals said they were "entertainment" not news.

(121 posts)They can fire all the sexual molestors in their ranks, they can tattoo "idiot" on the foreheads of Hannity and the bow-tie freak... but Fox "News" will never be a journalistic organization, it's just not in their DNA.

(5,333 posts)The New York Times has what they want. Fox News won't apologize, and that will make them look worse than they already look (if that's possible), while the Times will look better and more trustworthy. Both sides will get what they deserve, freedom of the press will prevail, and the New York Times will win the exchange.

(17,984 posts)Any real news source would have checked their facts beforehand. If they did make a mistake, a real news source would retract and apologize immediately. Faux Nooze, being the orange one's mouthpiece and exhibiting his contempt of true journalism, would rather escalate the fight than back down. Their viewers want to see them fight real journalism, so a fight means better ratings. It would, then, be better if NYT sues them and continues to cover the suit as it progresses. The point would not be to get a retraction but to demonstrate that Faux is a bully and the antithesis of true journalism.

They have complete disregard for anything factual. Why people watch that crap I'll never know.
