(16,208 posts)I suspect the GOP decided to use this as a way to avoid outright loss in this issue. There will be a shift in direction and they will use McCain as a motivator to redirect it.

He's not a decent human being, he's not a patriot, he's not a Christian...he's a Republican. To be the last, you can't be any of the first three.

(16,133 posts)He has from 15 months to 5 years, depending on how he reacts to treatment! Personally I hope it's the most painful time of his miserable life...because he's going to vote to take away health care from millions of Americans...and all things being equal he should suffer!!!

(1,021 posts)But I've heard of someone getting a horrible headache, horrible, going into the hospital, then living a few more weeks. McCain's tumor seems to be in a good place, for now. Not affecting his mobility or speech. My friend was dx'd last October, a little further back than McCain's location in the speech area. He just had his second surgery as the tumor is growing back after radiation and chemo. His speech still gone, but came back for awhile after radiation/chemo.

(10,533 posts)He is a phony. Always has been. He is trying to save his phony reputation for integrity now with this gallingly hypocritical speech. Then he will claim he exacted some (meaningless) concessions and vote for it anyway.

McCain and Graham always talk big and then wimp out and fall in line.
