Having spent over 50 summers at the same residence in Mid-Michigan, I was somewhat surprised this past summer.
Historically the lawn was cut in early spring, up to three times a week when the rain was heavy. The spring weather kept me busy but as the rains lessened, summer brought relief in the form of only weekly cuttings. This was followed in late July or early August with the browning of the lawn. Dryness meant only a trim of the weeds able to survive and an ugly looking lawn.
But, this year there was no brown lawn, weekly cuttings went on throughout the summer and continue into September.
One would almost think the climate is changing. But I know that is not true. The Koch brothers have three scientists that will attest to this fact.
Sometimes though, I wonder if these are the same three scientists who told us tobacco was not cancer causing.
Dang, why does this have to be so hard to understand? My brain is starting to hurt.
