May Donald J. Trump Be the Last White Male President!?
That is both a question and a hopeful statement. The United States has now had a black President and a woman has won the popular vote for that office, although she lost the election through a constitutional technicality.
The majority in this nation is shifting rapidly away from White Christians. Males are already in the minority in this nation. Perhaps it is time for us to expect and work toward electing political leaders who better represent the makeup of the country.
Perhaps we should begin the transition of politics to match the transition of our population. Perhaps our state legislatures, Congress and executive branch office-holders should also look more like our population as well.
Our population is a rainbow of peoples. Our government should be the same. I think we should work to change who those who represent us are from old white men to a mixture that matches what we see around us as we go about our daily affairs.
I say that as an old white man, myself. I don't consider myself part of a majority that is like me. I'm part of a culture that is far, far more diverse than that. Let's elect people who truly represent all of us, not just a few of us.

I'm not sure.
Indeed, Obama was a awesome president but is does not mean that all black presidents will be great. As all white presidents were not all great or bad. Nor that all women in charge with such high function as ruling a country, will do fine.
I think it is better to choose a person according to her skills and abilities to fulfill its fonction, rather than choose on the basis of color skin. 
They are in 'my' domain . "I rule the roost!" But not a word to my other half. 😇
Levity aside, I share your sentiments. I've embraced diversity since mb kindergarten? It was not a strange unheard of thing up north back in my day.
Am looking forward to an able-bodied Democratic human being as our next CiC.
