9/11 - the rightwing's wargasm

I got kicked off some Facebook pages last year because I was tired of the rightwing's flat out LOVE for 9/11. This is their high holiday. They can't wait to enjoy the death and destruction as it affirms everything they've been lead to believe. Morose sadness my ass they adore this shit.

Anyway.. here's L7

2. And all the talk about how tough they are, not letting the terrorists scare them

when it's plain to anyone outside the cloister that our reactions were 100% based on fear. I so envy the Brits' fuck you response to terror attacks, reminiscent to their fuck you response to Hitler's bombs. We have been willing to compromise our freedoms out of fear of terrorists, and seem to be afraid to try talking to them or doing anything to work on the causes of terrorism--which, imo, is the only way to fight terror.

Although our side exploits almost every type of technology for collecting intelligence, we are bound by the Constitution and Federal law regarding its use against US citizens. The Brits have no such protections, and are subject to near constant surveillance.

Our reaction to 9/11 was extreme, their domestic intelligence collection system is all encompassing.

They treat the horrific murder of almost 3,000 people like a religious holiday. Do they really believe it was their prediction come true or something?

And them doing what they do doesn't mean 9/11 isn't a big deal and important to remember. It is a big deal and it is important to remember.

8. It was a terrible day, but our responses killed over 6000 of our guys which

was twice as many as died on 9/11. Tens of thousands of our guys were wounded, physically and mentally. Several hundred thousand Iraqis were killed, more wounded. Our reputation was damaged. We and the world will be paying for decades.

I too am tired of 9/11. "Wargasm" is perfect.
