with the countries of the world? Do the leaders of these countries know that this is pure Trump and not the will of the American People?

(5,101 posts)Here is what a European right winger look : exactly the same as your locals. Just replace MAGA by MEGA.
I have posted in the French section what is seen as a "mega scandal" by RW. It is too funny. I'll try to translate today.

(25,183 posts)as an aberration, something that sometimes occurs in a democracy, especially one that has a two centuries old idea of an Electoral College governing who gets the Presidency. They may well not agree with our system, but they can understand.

Yes, trump doesn't represent America, but too many Americans support him. And they are aware of that.

(5,101 posts)I would say yes.
I have said it very often, Trump does not represent the USA or the Americans.
He reached the presidency by mistake (or fraud).
Be sure that the majority in any country of your allies thinks the same.
We were friends and allies yesterday, so it is today and still will tomorrow.
We stand alongside you, disheartened by what you are undergoing right now.
Trump is seen as a clown, an ignorant, has zero credibility in the eye of any serious leader.
The ones who love and support Trump here are the same as your local ones : right wingers, as "educated" as "smart" and as talented as yours when it comes to push the rules of what is supposed to be their native language, under a wrenching steamroller...
My very best thoughts and wishes to you and I hope you will be back very soon to a normal situation with a normal president, a normal Administration.

Alas, it is the single little and virtual help, I can provide. But it comes from the bottom of my heart.

(1,408 posts)I've gotten that impression here from DU and from reading and viewing different news sites from around the world.
Hopefully we can correct this mistake down the road.

Just so long as Mueller does it right.
If that means it takes a little longer, then so be it.
It would be nice to keep the scorched earth to a minimum though.

(22,919 posts)That means either impeachment before the 2018 elections, a Democratic landslide in the 2018 elections, or both. He could be chalked up as an aberration, but only if America resoundingly rejects him now that it is fully apparent what his presidency represents.

(20,974 posts)Trump being elected is an example of a long decline in what made America, America. Just as W's 2 terms were. Short term there will another Obama, but there is something deep seeded in American politics that is broken. Congress and the electoral college are set up to basically ensure that low population areas of the country politically control large population areas and thus freeze out the voices of the vast majority of the American people. Since money can basically control information into these low population centers, you're seeing money dictate politics. More than that America is setting up for a generational aristocracy and a permanent underclass. That's not changing anytime soon because it's not even being addressed. If you look at this republican health care bill and see the senators that are passing it actually represent a tiny portion of America's population. It's alarming.

(15,405 posts)But I don't think I will ever recover from the damage he's done to relationships with my friends and family.
Never understood how the brainwashed Hate-Radio pieces of shit could hate someone just for having a different political philosophy, until I started hated them right-the-fuck-back!
It's liberating to cut Retrumplicans out of my life...and I'll never forgive them for the harm they've done to our once great country.
I'm not trying to be hyperbolic, but I don't see our current political discourse ending in anything but bloodshed.
Maybe I'll move to Costa Rica
