Study: New ObamaCare repeal would cost states $215B

Study: New ObamaCare repeal would cost states $215B
BY NATHANIEL WEIXEL - 09/20/17 10:42 AM EDT

The newest legislation to repeal and replace ObamaCare would slash federal funding to states by $215 billion by 2026 and cut more than $4 trillion over a 20-year period, according to a new analysis.

The analysis by the nonpartisan consulting firm Avalere Health found that by 2026, the legislation would lead to 34 states and the District of Columbia experiencing funding cuts.

Seven of those states would see cuts of more than $10 billion and 16 states would see a funding increase. The biggest losers would be states that expanded Medicaid under ObamaCare.

Think Republicans didn't plan to retaliate against the states, like my California, that expanded Medicaid under ObamaCare by cutting the funds? Unlike red states that refused to let their citizens get Medicaid under all but the most dire needs, those states that expanded Medicaid were focused on helping as many of their citizens as possible get into a healthcare program, and it worked. The contrast made Republicans look bad, they were callous and cruel and people died for lack of medical care.

Now they toss out this latest dystopian plan to kill off more poor people, and put everyone right back into the same healthcare mess as before ObamaCare ever existed... just what the Republicans want.
