Did Rachel Maddow Suggest The Democrats Could Filibuster & Run Out Clock?

Can they swap out people and continue talking until the month runs out? I thought a filibuster requires a single person speaking. Is anything like this allowed the way next week is setting up? It seems too easy.

1. A filibuster does involve a single person speaking, but that person can "yield for a question"...

to a colleague who can then spend an hour or so asking a really long question thus giving the person conducting
the filibuster a break for a bit. Of course when one Senator concludes their filibuster another could start one of
their own.

So is that mechanism available to the Democrats next week? Could they take turns filibustering until Saturday midnight, and the repubs would be unable to do a thing about it?

on health care bill does - can't be filibustered. I don't know what the specific Democratic
strategy is, I'll have to read more on their plans.

Also, for more than you probably want to know on the filibuster:

I made another bright pink post-it to call my two blue state senators tomorrow to suggest that. I would assume that they were already planning on taking that coarse of action. The debate will be open for all of 90 SECONDS!!!!! If they vote on Wed and the calendar expires on Oct 1st, that means that one person will have to filibuster for 4 straight days. I do not think anyone has that stamina, not even Jimmy Stewart (Mr. Smith Goes To Washington film).

4. She Didn't Imply It Would Be A Single Person

That's really what I'm curious about. Can they each have their own filibuster, or could the repubs stop it? Does a single person have to speak for days? If that's the case, obviously a lot different than if all the Democrats are able to participate.

7. Senators get one chance to filibuster each. So a "tag team" of Senators can filibuster one after

the other (that's how there were 57 days total of filibuster of the civil rights act back in 1964).

And tell them to stock up on sleep, yes I'm positive she said they could do it.
