Well. Who could have predicted THAT would happen?

(62,287 posts)If he's not the one saying it there are other charlatans or heretics who have been making the same proclamations to sell books or get people to go to their websites or view their YouTube videos. They're all a bunch of scammers.
Been dropping this one a lot:

He may have been a day off in his prediction. Which in astronomy is negligible.
The part of the world that is changing for many of us is the NFL teams and even owners. Consider the fans, who have up until today had been proud Jacksonville Jaguars followers. When that team, accompanied by owner Shad Khan (a Pakistani-born naturalized US citizen), took a knee or linked arms, on foreign soil, no less the world as they knew it came to an end.
Im enjoying reading their spleen-venting, sackcloth-and-ashes, and otherwise acrimonious posts on FB and local news sites comments pages.
Im sure the same end-of-civilization-as-we-know-it scenario is playing out in other NFL cities where players and owners unite against 45s comments. But here, where we have such a strong Navy and National Guard presence, watching the self-described patriots (not to be confused with followers of that New England team) try to cope with their own apocalypse, is a boon in these otherwise dark times.
Seriously, the area is still recovering from Irma. There are still some neighborhoods without power. Mounds of tree-limbs stacked curbside is the rule rather than the exception. Recovery and rebuilding will take months if not years. And yet, the Cult-45ers here would have you believe that the seven-headed, ten-horned dragon has arrived to gobble up the newborn child of the lady crowned with 12 stars, 33 (OK, 34) days after the eclipse. Hey, whatever fantasy floats your boat. Just please, dont let it become policy in our 21st Century.
