When it first came out I thought it was Kabuki. A plot involving McCain and Graham. Cassidy was a pawn to provide a veneer of plausibility.

The excess anxiety experienced by millions over this likely reduced their life expectancy. People will die younger!
In the republican playbook, that has to count as a win.
