...to fall in love with a kitten. In a different thread here on DU, I once observed that it took me about 30 seconds to lose my heart to a kitten, and someone replied, "Why so long?"

That little kitty will be so cherished.

Of course she didn't no matter how much I begged so it's her fault that I now have 5 cats, 1 ferret, 2 gerbils, 1 hamster, 2 rabbits and 10 fish.

I do remember my sister's friend gave her a puppy and we had him in the house for like 2 days and my father made us return it. It was really devastating..and obviously I never forgot. So parents take note, moments like this last a lifetime...and those moments can be good or bad.

And I totally understand. This was literally me when my husband agreed to us adopting my heart dog. Amazing how quickly they take up residence in our hearts.
